Benefits

There are two membership types:

 UDCH Voting Membership (with full voting privileges)
Any person who supports Democratic ideals in the municipality of Hillsborough and who supports the purposes of this Organization shall be eligible for Voting Membership. Voting Members in good standing shall include all members meeting the following requirements:

1. Completed and submitted a Voting Membership application to the Corresponding Secretary, and
2. Either

• Attended at least 50 percent of membership meetings in the last consecutive 12 months, or
• Attended the previous three consecutive membership meetings.

Membership (non-voting)
Any person who is a registered Democrat in Hillsborough Township and persons who support the purposes of this Organization are considered to be members.  Members shall not be eligible to serve as an officer or on the Executive Board, chair ad hoc committees, or participate in a vote on any matters of state-wide or national import brought before the membership of the United Dems.  Members may attend meetings, receive United Dems communications, participate in United Dems Social Media groups, attend United Dems events, and participate in other activities as determined by the United Dems.  Members are strongly encouraged to apply for Voting Membership.

There are many important programs and and initiatives helping to promote Democratic ideals and foster community, which wouldn't be possible without contributions from the membership. Your donation will help ensure the UDCH can continue to deliver this vital and timely programming. Please make a contribution to the UDCH at a level meaningful to you.

Encouraged contributions of $15 (or more) are very much welcome and appreciated.

If you enjoy politics and good government, join the UDCH today. Membership carries no obligation to participate, and there are those who join simply to be kept in the loop on Democratic events and news, and register their support for the Democratic Party.

The UDCH has regular meetings featuring a variety of speakers on local and national issues. General membership meetings are free and open to the public. We welcome visitors. 

We have a politics book club and several social events at which members come together to enjoy each other's company and mutual interests. 

The UDCH is the one of the newest community based Democratic organization in NJ. Democratic candidates at all levels find value in presenting their ideas and hearing from the UDCH membership. Candidate forums often include an opportunity for voting members to help endorse candidates, which helps increase visibility and attention on candidates who best share our collective values. 

Through our email list, we notify members of upcoming political events and volunteer opportunities. We have hosted a volunteer headquarters for presidential candidates and anticipate doing so again for the next presidential election.
